Home Safety Tips

Do you have a meeting place?  If not, now is the time to come up with a meeting place.  A meeting place is where your family goes in the event of a fire in your house.  A great place for a meeting place is the end of your driveway or your mailbox.

Seasonal Safety Tips

Wood Stove Safety Tips from Bungay Fire.

  1. Always have your chimney cleaned each year.

  2. Burn only seasoned hardwood - not trash, cardboard boxes, or Christmas trees because these items burn unevenly, may contain toxins, and increase the risk of uncontrolled fires.

  3. Keep all persons, pets and flammable objects, including kindling, bedding, clothing, at least three feet away from fireplaces and wood stoves.

  4. Install Smoke and CO Detectors on each level of your home.

Wild Fire Safety

Never burn during High Fire Danger.  Always get a permit prior to burn.  Outdoor burning may only be done between the hours of 10am and 5pm (the fire MUST be out at 5pm)
