Early in the morning of November 20th 2007 the Bungay Fire Brigade responded Mutual Aid to the Town of Eastford for a reported house fire.  Upon arrival of the first units, they reported heavy fire showing on the "B" & "C" sides of the house.

Also assisting Eastford were the Pomfret FD, Ashford FD, Muddy Brook FD, Woodstock FD, Chaplin FD, Williamsville FD and East Brooklyn.  The Providence Canteen was also called in for refreshments.

Units were on the scene for a number of hours fighting the fire.

Smoke Detectors...

Change your batteries...

When we change our clocks it is important to make sure we change the batteries in ALL of our smoke detectors.

The small price of a battery can safe a priceless life.

House Numbers...

HELP US HELP YOU!!!!  Are your house numbers visible?  We have noticed that many of our district residents do not display their house numbers correctly.  Your numbers should be displayed at the end of your driveway, be 3 inch block numbers and visible at night.  Having your numbers on your house may not help us.  If your house is way off the road having a number just on your house will not help us.

We are asking all residents in Woodstock to make sure your house numbers are visible to us at night.  Seconds count in emergencies and this is one way you can help us help you.

The Bungay Fire Brigade recommends you install these reflective green signs at the end of your drive way and that the numbers are visible from both directions.
